What we do and who we are is not quite so easy to describe; what makes Safe and Sound stand out from the crowd, why we are the go-to childcare provider for many planners.

So we spoke to some of the people who we have worked with and asked them why they work with us, what we offer their clients, how we take the strain so they, the planner, do not have to worry about the children whether there is one or thirty one.

Headed up by Vanessa, the team specialises in outdoor weddings and couples who are travelling from abroad to host their wedding celebrations in the UK. With their vast experience, they bring a calm and methodical yet fun approach to planning your wedding.

They have an array of fabulous partners they work with when they are planning a wedding, all with exceptionally high standards that equal their own and when childcare is required for the children at a wedding this is no exception.

Any childcare provider that works with Vanessa must have a friendly and approachable team who are not only excellent at childcare, they must have a thorough knowledge of weddings and be capable of anticipating events throughout the course of the wedding day. Holly and Susannah are the award-winning creative duo behind Revelry Events – London and Scotland based wedding planners who love rulebook-free weddings. They work with couples from all over the world looking to celebrate their wedding in the UK helping them to create their dream day.

With an increasing number of couples getting married later and often already having children of their own, little ones can make up a large part of the guest list. Holly and Susannah often recommend a separate stream of activities for children and look for a company that could completely run that part of the day for them. A team to oversee the meals, organise play, look after smaller ones and set up activities for all ages so that parents know they can enjoy the grown-up part of the day and their children are in safe hands.

Above all their childcare provider must be trustworthy, have lots of experience and have a complete understanding of what each couple is looking for.

Lydia knew at just 7 years old that she wanted to be a Wedding Planner at Cliveden House after being a bridesmaid there, and she has her dream job. Her love for weddings and her passion for creating unforgettable experiences for couples on their special day is second to none.

When choosing wedding childcare partners for her couples, Lydia has exceptionally high standards and the childcare provider must equal these. She needs to know the team are dedicated to co-ordinating with her throughout the day, taking the pressure off the couple and the parents of the children attending. Jess started working for Milsoms in early 2017 and had the enviable task of overseeing all the weddings at the beautiful Hengrave Hall. After going on maternity leave and having her little girl Grace in January 2019 she has recently returned to Milsoms and is based in the office at the La Talbooth where she now plans the weddings.

Jessica worked closely with Safe and Sound during her time at Hengrave Hall and when her sister announced she was getting married she was straight on the phone to book them to look after her daughter Grace knowing that not only will she be in safe hands but she will have a fun day with them. She has booked their exclusive 1:1 service but knows from experience they can look after large groups of children from every age group. Sadly due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the wedding like many had to be postponed until 2021. The date is booked and we have everything crossed for them that it goes ahead.

When Jessica is looking for a childcare partner for her couples it’s important that they are not only professional in their approach and they offer a service that works for all the children, but most importantly the children (and parents) are happy and instantly at ease with the team. Hence why they are top of the list for her own childcare needs. She knows that they will take everything in their stride on the day and whilst Grace’s routine may be out of sync with the demands of a wedding, whatever situation may be thrown at them they will calmly deal with it.

Stylish Events

Dominique has worked with Safe and Sound on many weddings over the last 4 years, but the one that sticks out in her mind is a fabulous wedding at the stunning Down Hall for her clients Fran and Gary, in May 2016.

It was a large and very detailed wedding with over 200 guests and 30 children, from babies to teenagers on the guest list.

Dominique says “It was important for my clients to know that the children of their family and friends would be looked after and have as much fun as the grown-ups. Fran asked me specifically to find the best company to take care of everything for the children. Emily started her wedding planning company in 2012 following a corporate career in retail buying. Based in Norfolk she specialises in marquee and dry hire venues across East Anglia (and beyond).

She loves nothing more than transforming an empty field or barn into a full functioning beautiful event space!

When looking for a childcare partner for a wedding or event, the most important factor when recommending this particular service to any of my clients is their credentials and professionalism. Being a mother myself I would be extremely picky about who I would want to care for my children, and I would apply the same diligence and care for my clients. Safety and child protection are paramount, and I know Stephanie and her team are experienced at childcare from a safety perspective as they are from an entertainment viewpoint.

Safe and Sound cover every element of childcare and I have used them for groups of children of varying ages, along with their dedicated one to one service for my clients.
